Hexagonal boron nitride has excellent heat resistance (it can withstand a temperature of 2300℃ in inert gas, with a theoretical temperature resistance of up to 3000℃), thermal stability, thermal conductivity, and high-temperature dielectric strength, making it an ideal heat-dissipating material and high-temperature insulating material.
Boron nitride has good chemical stability, can resist corrosion by most molten metals, and at the same time, it also has excellent self-lubricating properties and good machinability.
Boron nitride can be used in the manufacture of crucibles, high-temperature containers for metallurgy, high-temperature heat-dissipating and insulating components, high-temperature bearings, thermocouple sleeves, glass forming molds, etc. It can also be used as wave-transparent and infrared-transparent materials in the military industry field, as well as ablation-resistant components for hypersonic aircraft.
